Why pick Us?
Why would you hire us instead of the local big box store?
There are a number of reasons, but the first relates to what the purpose of retail store service departments. In many chains their purpose isn't to repair computers at all, but rather to sell you software and hardware that they sell in the store. Geek Squad agents for example have sales quotas for various security software that Best Buy is attempting to sell. They aren't encouraging you to buy something because they neccesarily think that it is the best, but rather because that is the product that corporate wants them to sell. While we obviously need to make money off of our services we are more interested in creating loyal customers who refer us additional customers than trying to rob you blind by selling you unneeded software to make a quick buck.
Furthermore, many repair shops whether they are attached to a retail store or not often will spend far too much time to resolve an issue and the solution to virtually every product is to simply reinstall Windows. Ironically even when they do install Windows they often use the original an often far outdated version of Windows that the machine came with even though Microsoft in some cases no longer even supports that version. We encountered one client where Geek Squad reinstalled Windows XP SP1 nevermind that Microsoft no longer supports SP1 any longer and that doing so opens the user to known security vulnerabilities that the user doesn't need to expose themselves to in order to use Windows. This would be equivalent of a car mechanic replacing your oil, but only putting half as much oil as is recommended for the vehicle. It might be quicker to simply reinstall the recovery discs that the computer vendor created at purchase, but like underfilling the oil in your car you are simply asking for trouble.
